ブランド 偽物:倍って英語でなんて言うの？

２倍はtwice, ３倍以降は数字の後ろにtimesがつきます。文にして使うときは、よくasや比較級（形容詞+er, より～）と一緒に使います。例えば、"This book costs twice as much as that book."で、「この本はあの本の２倍の値段です」と言うことができます。"This building is three times taller than the building over there."で「この建物は向こうにある建物の３倍の高さです」となります。

「倍」は英語でだいたい times と言います。例えば、「2倍・3倍・10倍・100倍増えました」と言いたいなら、It increased by two times / three times / ten times / one hundred times と言えます。もう一つの言い方は ○○fold です。例えば、It increased by twofold / threefold / tenfold / one hundredfold と言えます。しかし、アメリカ英語ですとこの言い方がちょっと古いです。今は times の方が普通です。ご参考になれば幸いです。
